OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT DECEMBER 17-18/12/2022

GROUP A: Chess players with up to 1800 rating, regardless of age. Group A will be valid for FIDE ratings.

GROUP B: Born from 2010 and up without FIDE rating (all the chess players have the right to take part in group A if they choose so).

RECORDING OF MOVES: It is mandatory for everyone. If the very young chess players cannot write, 10 minutes will be subtracted from their total thinking time.

DRAW OFFERS ARE PROHIBITED.

TIME CONTROL:  35΄+30΄΄.

TIE BREAKS:1. Direct Encounter (the results of the players in the same point group) 2. Buchholz -1 3. Buchholz 0 4. Sonneborn-Berger 5. Greater number of victories.

TOURNAMENTSYSTEM:7-round Swiss.

EXCEPTIONS: Up to two (2) exceptions are allowed for each player.

FEES: A GROUP 20€, B GROUP 15€, 2 SIBLINGS IN A GROUP 35€ AND IN B GROUP 25€. 3 SIBLINGS IN EVERY GROUP 30€.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 15/12/2022. Pairings for the 1^st round on Friday 16/12/2022 at 22:00 (Greek time).

CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPATION: At least 30’ minutes before the start of the 1^st round.

TOTAL 400€: FINALRANKING 1^st 150€, 2^nd 100€, 3^rd 50€ - WOMEN: 1^st 60€, 2^nd 40€

Prizes are not shared.

A GROUP: Cups for the first 3 of the final ranking and for the 1^stwoman.

If a woman takes the 1^st place in the final ranking, then the 1^st woman’s cup will be awarded to the next player in the final ranking.

Medals to the first three (3) winners and the first (1^st) girl under the age of 10, 12, 14, 16.

B GROUP: Cups and Medals to the first three (3) winners and the first three (3) girls. Medals per class. All the Preschoolers will be awarded.

 ACCOMMODATION: Hotel PHILIPPION **** Thessaloniki

PRICES PER PERSON WITH FULL BOARD: Double room: 44 euros. Triple room: 42 Single: 65 euros. Children up to 12 years old in their parents' room pay 50% of the price.

Accommodation at the hotel is NOT mandatory.
