Playing System: FIDE Swiss nine (9) rounds – Three (3) groups according to FIDE Rating of

– Open A: Rtg > 1900, Open B: Rtg 1899-1200, Open C: Rtg <1200
Closing Ceremony: Sunday, 8
th January of 2023, half an hour after the end of the games for each
Group separately.
Rate of play: 90 min for the first 40 moves + 30 min until the end of the game + 30 sec increment
per move from the 1st move. FIDE Laws of Chess for standard rated tournaments.
Tie Breaks: 1) Buchholz cut-1, 2) Sonneborn-Berger, 3) Sum Buchholz tie-breaks variable, 4)
Direct encounter (the result of players in the same point group), 5) Greater number of victories
(variable).

Group A: 1
st 1200 Euros + Cup, 2nd 700 Euros + Cup, 3rd 400 Euros + Cup, 4

The prizes will be shared by the Hort system (up to 6th final ranking). If a player qualifies for two
or more prizes he/she is awarded the higher one. By no appearance in the Closing Ceremony the
right for prizes is forfeited.
Group B: 1
st 400 Euros + Cup, 2nd 250 Euros + Cup, 3rd 150 Euros + Cup, 1st Woman 100 Euros +
Cup.
Group C: 1
st Cup + Chess Timer + Chessboard, 2nd and 3rd Medals + Chess book, 1st Woman Cup
+ Chess Timer or Chessboard.
Special categories (Group B): U16, U14, U12, 1st Girl of each category (only if there are at least 6
players in the special category)
Special categories (Group C): U08, U10, U12, U14, 1st Girl of each category (only if there are at
least 6 players in every special category).
The above prices are valid from 30/12/2022 for anyone interested in spending New Year's Eve in
Thessaloniki. A supplementary notice will be issued for the New Year's Eve party in the hotel.

PARTICIPATION FEES
(according to FIDE rating)
Open A:
1. Title holders with FIDE rating >=2500 [Women >=2400] - No entry fee
2. Title holders with FIDE rating >=2400 [Women ≥ 2300] - No entry fee
3. Players with FIDE rating 2300-2399 [Women 2200-2299] - 20 Euros
4. Players with FIDE rating 2200-2299 [Women 2100-2199] - 25 Euros
5. Players with FIDE rating 2100-2199 [Women 2000-2099] - 30 Euros
6. Players with FIDE rating 2000-2099 [Women 1900-1999] - 40 Euros
7. Players with FIDE rating 1900-1999 [Women 1800-1899] - 50 Euro
The Organization Committee offers 10 places to chess players with Fide Rating under 1700 to
play in Group A by paying an entry fee of 120 euros.
Open B: 35 Euros.
Open C: General entry fee 25 Euros. For those who wish to participate in Group B but belong to
Group C, the entry fee is 55 euros.
*For the second member of the same family discount 5 euros at the entry fee

***Disabled persons 50% discount at the entry fee
Entry Fee Payment Methods
The entry form does not guarantee the participation.
Entry fee paid by deposit at the bank account GR2201712320006232161943312 (SWIFT-BIC:
PIRBGRAA) prior to the 1st round.
Any bank expenses must be covered by the chess player.
Bank receipts should be sent to the e-mail chess.tournament.skg@gmail.com for
identification.
Objections – Appeals committee: Objections are made no later than ten (15) minutes after the end
of the last game of the round. Τhe Appeals Committee, will be nominated from the competition
before the beginning of the tournament where three (3) full members and two (2) reserve members
shall be selected before the beginning of the tournament. From the Appeals Committee excludes all its members related to the chess players involved in the objection and is replaced by the reserve.
The fee for the objection is set at 100€ and must be deposited to the Director of the competition.
ACCOMODATION CONDITIONS
1. Title holders with FIDE rating > = 2500 [Women >=2400] Free accommodation and
breakfast at the Porto Palace Hotel in a double bed room (plus no entry fee).
2. Title holders with FIDE rating >= 2400 [Women ≥ 2300] Free accommodation and
breakfast at the Porto Palace Hotel in a three bed room (plus no entry fee).
Accommodation at the hotel is not mandatory.

REGISTRATION
Entries must be sent by filling the form: https://forms.gle/rruSdtk4uZomfPgr6 not later than
Sunday, 1st of January 2023. Confirmation of participation on Monday, 2
nd of January 2023, from
15.00 p.m. to 16.00 p.m. at the Venue.
The participants are obliged to fill out their Registration Form of their participation on 2
nd of
January 2023 up to 16.00 p.m. in order to be able to participate in the pairings of the 1st round.
