of August 2023, half an hour after the end of the games for each Group
separately.
RATE OF PLAY: 90 min for the first
40 moves + 30 min until the end of the game + 30 sec increment per move from
the 1st move. FIDE Laws of Chess for standard
rated tournaments.
EXCEPTIONS:
Up to two (2) exceptions are allowed for each player.

1) Buchholz cut-1, 2) Sonneborn-Berger, 3) Sum
Buchholz tie-breaks variable, 4) Direct encounter (the result of players in the
same point group), 5) Greater number of victories (variable)

At Group A+B, the prizes will be shared by the Hort system (up to 6th
final ranking). If a player qualifies for two or more prizes he/she is awarded the higher one. By no appearance in the
Closing Ceremony the right for prizes is forfeited.
Group C: 1st Cup + Chess
Timer + Chessboard, 2nd and 3rd Medals + Chess Book, 1st
Woman Cup + Chess Timer or Chessboard.
Special categories (Group C): 1st U08, 1st U10, 1st U12, 1st U14 of each category: Cup + Chessboard or Chess Book. 1st Girl U08, U10, U12, U14: Medal +
Chess Book or Chessboard. 2nd-3rd U08, U10, U12, U14: Medal + Chess Book or Chessboard.
(only if there are at least 6 players in every special category).
* Prizes and awards may be increased
according to the participants and will be announced in a supplementary
schedule.
Objections –Appeals committee: Objections are made no later than thirty (30) minutes
after the end of the last game of the round. The Appeals Committee, will be
nominated from the competition before the beginning of the tournament where 3
full members and 2 alternate members shall be selected before the beginning of
the tournament. From the Appeals Committee excludes all its members related to
the athletes involved in the objection and is replaced by the alternates. The
fee for the objection is set at 60€ and must be deposited to the Director of
the competition. In case the objection is upheld, the fee is returned.

The Organization
Committee offers 10 places to chess players with Fide Rating under 1700
to play in Group A by paying an entry fee of 120 euros.
Group B: 35 Euros (Elo 1200 - 1899)
There is a discount of 5€ for families with two members and discount of
10 € with three members.
Group C: General entry fee 25 Euros. For
those who wish to participate in Group B but belong to Group C, the entry fee
is 55 euros.

1. Title holders with FIDE rating > = 2500 [Women >=2400] à Free accommodation and
breakfast at the Porto Palace Hotel in a double bed room (plus no entry
fee).
2. Title holders with FIDE rating >= 2400 [Women ≥ 2300] à Free accommodation and
breakfast at the Porto Palace Hotel in a three bed room (plus no entry
fee).
Accommodation at
the hotel is not mandatory.

REGISTRATION
Entries must be sent by

August 2023, from 15.00 p.m. to 16.00p.m. at the Venue.
The participants are obliged
to fill out their Registration Form of their participation on 5th
August 2023 up to 16.00p.m. in order to be able to participate in the pairings
of the 1st round.
